Creating Your Personal Life Vision: A Roadmap for the Next 10 Years For Entrepreneurs

Creating Your Personal Life Vision: A Roadmap for the Next 10 Years
For those who love business and self-development books, the concept of having a clear vision for your life and business is nothing new. But as the saying goes, “Common sense is not always common practice” (Brendon Burchard). Even though many of us know the importance of having a vision, how many of us actually take the time to create one?
So, let me ask you:
What is your life vision?
If you can clearly articulate it in just a couple of minutes, give yourself 5 points. But if you’ve got it written down and easily accessible, you’re scoring a 10/10!
What Does a Personal Vision Look Like?
Personal visions can vary depending on who’s teaching you, but the principle remains the same: What does your dream life look like? To help you bring your vision into focus, I encourage you to create a one-page personal life plan. This plan will help you map out what you truly want for yourself over the next decade.
Your Life Plan – What Do You Really Want?
Step 1: Let Your Imagination Run Wild
Start with a brainstorming session. Write down everything you want in life, even if it feels out of reach right now. Forget about what you need—this is about your desires. Don’t hold back, let your dreams flow freely onto the page.
Step 2: Your Ideal Week in 10 Years
Now, picture yourself a decade from now. What does a perfect week look like for you? Think about your work hours, your time off, and how you spend your leisure time. Are you working less? Spending more time with family? Travelling? Sketch out your ideal routine as if it’s already happening.
Step 3: Visualise Your Living Space
Where do you want to live in 10 years? Describe everything about your ideal living space, from the environment and community to the design and feel of your home. Imagine the little details: the scent of the flowers in your garden, the colour of the walls, the view from your window. Make it as real as possible in your mind.
Step 4: Three Words to Describe the Future You
Think of three words that describe who you aspire to be in 10 years. Are you striving to be passionate? Playful? Present? These words can serve as a compass for how you want to grow. How can you start embracing those qualities now?
Step 5: Key Life Areas
Finally, focus on different areas of your life and what you want to achieve in each over the next 10 years. Write a short paragraph for each of these:
• Health and Fitness: How do you want to feel physically and mentally?
• Family: What kind of relationships do you want with your family members?
• Friends: What role do friendships play in your future life?
• Career: What milestones do you want to hit in your work or business?
• Hobbies: How do you want to spend your free time?
• Finances: What financial goals do you want to accomplish?
• Adventure: What new experiences or travels do you dream of?
• Spirituality: How do you want to grow in terms of your inner self?
Why This Matters
Taking the time to create a clear vision for your life sets a powerful intention. It gives you a roadmap to follow, helping you stay aligned with what truly matters to you. And the clearer your vision, the easier it becomes to make decisions that move you closer to the life you want.
So, take the challenge—create your one-page life plan today, and start taking steps toward the future you’ve always wanted.
